Digital health is an umbrella term that refers to the use of information and communications technologies in medicine and other health professions to manage illnesses and health risks and to promote wellness . Examples include telemedicine, remote sensors and monitors, digital health records and data analytics, and predictive modeling. Digital health technologies afford the opportunity both to deliver personalized medicine and to scale up effective interventions to meet population health needs, particularly in light of gross health care worker shortages.
