We are extremely excited to introduce you to the second batch of HCDExchange Youth Leadership Hub Associates. The Youth Leadership Hub (YLH) is a cohort of eight youth HCD+ASRH leaders from sub-Saharan Africa or South Asia who offer insight on young people’s lives and experiences, lead meaningful youth engagement efforts, and demonstrate youth leadership across HCDExchange’s work.
Under the direction of the HCDExchange Project Director, the Senior Program Manager (SPM) is responsible for planning, team management and performance oversight that is aimed at achieving the HCDExchange’s mission and objectives with a focus on quality assurance and compliance as well as creativity, collaboration and camaraderie. He/she/they will manage and execute HCDExchange’s work plan, supervise and support a cross-cultural and geographically distributed team, and develop or refine processes and practices that boost efficiency, facilitate collaboration, and honor differences.
The importance of Ethics is particularly crucial when considering engagement with vulnerable populations and sensitive topics. Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health sits at the confluence of these.
As we work to build the field of HCD + ASRH as a more mainstream way of running this kind of programming, we want to ensure that quality remains central to these programmes, and there are universal standards for evaluating quality. This helps to ensure that all stakeholders are held accountable to the same standard and we can avoid the use of tokenistic human-centred design approaches.
