This publication captures the journey of Matasa Matan Arewa, an A360 program implemented in Northern Nigeria. The technical brief walks the reader through how this program was designed and implemented to address SRH needs of Nigerian adolescents and promote contraception uptake in a particular community. It first describes the ASRH landscape in Nigeria to explain the need of this intervention, and then offers a step-by-step account of the HCD process used to generate insights from the community and design interventions that speak to adolescents’ aspirations and needs. To complete the story, this brief also mentions outcomes of this program, and offers recommendations based on lessons learned during design and implementation. It’s a great resource for implementers, designers, and evaluators who want to understand the process of a typical Adolescents 360 project. Since this is a case study written in a logical flow and relatively simple language, it also makes for an interesting read for someone in the ASRH field who wants to learn more about how HCD can be leveraged in ASRH programming.
