The HCDExchange is partnering up with USAID Advancing Nutrition for an interactive webinar to explore how to integrate the practice of HCD into SBC programming and projects. There is potential to bring these approaches together to accelerate progress towards positive health and nutrition outcomes. Quality SBC recognizes that change requires people to do something differently. The process starts with understanding the context and what behaviors, if done differently, would make a difference to the goal based on the epidemiology. Then, it requires a deep understanding of why (what drives people) and what solutions are acceptable. It is in identifying these local, meaningful solutions that HCD is critical and powerful. There is a compelling opportunity for the application of HCD within SBC processes, to achieve programming objectives and improved health and nutrition outcomes.
Join us to hear from SBC project leaders who have leveraged HCD for their research and implementation, including BreakthroughACTION, ThinkPlace, and UNICEF. Together, we will unpack foundational questions on how these practices work together, how HCD is done well, and how it compares to other participatory research and implementation approaches.
